2000 SIR ROBERT MENZIES CENTRE FOR AUSTRALIAN STUDIES - Institute of Commonwealth Studies, London - Research Fellowship at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts followed by travel and work in Hawaii, Pacific Islands, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia – total of 16 months
1998 ALASTAIR SALVESEN TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP - Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh - Travelled to West and South West States of America - May to August 1998. A solo exhibition of work inspired by the trip was held at the Royal Scottish Academy in November 1998.
1996 THE VILLIERS DAVID TRAVEL PRIZE, London - 1996 - Travelled to Hong Kong, Australia and the Pacific Islands - October 1996 to March 1997. As part of the award, a solo exhibition of work inspired by this experience was held at the Berkeley Square Gallery, London in May 1998
